Andrew’s Carolina vs Boston College Series MVPs

Lead Analyst Andrew Forrest is revealing his top performers from Carolina’s series against Boston College.

Andrew’s MVPs highlight the players who made the biggest impact, focusing on moments that matter, not just the stats.

Walker McDuffie: 5 IP, 1 ER, 4 hits, 5 Ks, 2 walks, 2 saves

Against Boston College, Walker McDuffie became the first Tar Heel pitcher in four years to pitch at least one inning in all three games of a weekend series. And he was lights out in doing so, coming into numerous high leverage situations and giving up only one run while collecting two saves.

Jake Schaffner: 7-13 (.538), 1 2B, 1 3B, 2 RBIs, 1 walk

Schaffner continues to be a hard out for opposing pitchers at the top of UNC’s lineup. In a series where runs were somewhat limited, he was one of the few consistent bats in all three games. The shortstop also pitched in some fantastic defense in a weekend where the Heels turned seven double plays.

Caden Glauber- 5.1 IP, 1 ER, 2 hits, 5 Ks, 4 walks, win in game 2

On Saturday, starting pitcher Jason DeCaro was dealing with illness and was chased from the game after only throwing 2.2 innings. Glauber came in and picked up the slack, pitching more than five innings while only giving up one run. The freshman, despite struggling with his command at times, showed, yet again, why UNC’s coaching staff (and fans) are so high on the young arm.
